As a Cloud Engineer at Parsons, you will play a key role in designing and implementing next-generation cloud-based systems that meet the needs of our customers. You will work closely with software development teams and mission owners to provide technical guidance and expertise on cloud-native technologies and services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical expertise on cloud computer technologies and services
* Recommend approaches to migrate tools and systems to cloud-based solutions
* Help teams make informed decisions on SaaS, PaaS, self-hosted, and hybrid approaches
* Requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
* Work with products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, Big Table, Cassandra, Scality, etc.
* Write scripts for software automation
* Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complete hardware/software systems to include monitoring technical health of a system, improving organizational processes, implementation of postmortem (failure) analysis and incident management
Required Skills:
* TS/SCI w/ Poly required for consideration
* One of the following certifications; AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Data Analytics (some flexibility to obtain within four (4) months of starting position)
Desired Skills:
* Kubernetes experience including a Kubernetes Admin responsible for upgrading, version control and configuration management. Creating best practices that enable consistency
* AWS experience with AMI generation and automating processes to make it easier for analysts to use
* Create integration with enterprise authentication services
* Experience with Elastic Map Reduce and other Cloud vendors
* Kubernetes Developer or Admin
