Beverage Service Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Beverage Service professional to join our team at Compass Group, North America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Adhere to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Set up assigned bars, requisition, and stock all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, and stirrers.
  • Maintain stock, prepare, cure, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables.
  • Greet guests in a courteous, friendly manner.
  • Take and/or process orders for drinks, mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes.
  • Check guests at the bar for proper identification.
  • Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained.
  • Receive cash from guests, make change, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed.
  • Lock up and store all beverage product, food, equipment items, deposits, and cash drops.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area.
  • Wash and sterilize stemware.
