At HASC Center Inc., we're seeking a part-time physical therapist to join our team in promoting physical independence and overall well-being for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). As a critical member of our healthcare team, you'll play a vital role in crafting individualized treatment plans and providing expert care to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical exams and develop tailored treatment plans for each client.
- Master the art of I/DD-specific physical therapy, incorporating exercise, manual therapy, and adaptive equipment training to help clients reach their full potential.
- Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and empower clients, families, and caregivers with knowledge and self-management strategies.
- Stay ahead of the curve with ongoing education focused on I/DD populations and cutting-edge physical therapy practices.
- Work in a supportive and inclusive environment with a dedicated team who shares your passion for making a difference.
Requirements:
- Holds a PT degree and a New York state license.
- Understands I/DD-related movement disorders and sensory processing challenges.
- Has expertise in I/DD-adapted physical therapy techniques.
- Communicates effectively with diverse individuals and teams.
- Embraces empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others.
Bonus points if you:
- Have experience in developing I/DD-specific treatment plans.
- Know your way around adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
- Have community-based physical therapy experience.
