Main Responsibilities:


A Gastroenterologist at UR Medicine Thompson Health is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, consulting with patients to understand their health concerns, and performing specialized tests to diagnose patients. They must determine proper courses of treatment, consult with a patient's primary doctor, and analyze patient historical data. Additionally, they may consult with other specialists, such as oncologists, in the case of cancer, and perform endoscopic procedures to inspect internal organs. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of all gastroenterological conditions and treatment options.


Requirements:
• Attainment of certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine
• Proficiency in performing endoscopic and colonoscopy procedures
• Proficiency with X-Rays, MRIs, and ultrasound scanning

Education and Experience:
• Medical degree
• Completion of a three-year internal residency
• Completion of a three-year Gastroenterology fellowship
• 3 years of experience preferred, but not required

Compensation:
$500,000-$600,000 per year, based on experience
