System Technician

As a System Technician at PNM Resources, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining electrical equipment to ensure proper operation. You will also supervise employees, assist in installation and maintenance of substation and transmission equipment, and perform maintenance on substation equipment such as oil testing and replacement. Additionally, you will train personnel, plan jobs, facilitate record keeping, and ensure safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operation
Supervise employees while performing required tasks
Assist in installation and maintenance of substation and transmission equipment
Perform maintenance on substation equipment such as oil testing and replacement

Requirements:
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with seven to nine years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Completion of competency levels for System Technician 5 or equivalent experience
College level course work in an engineering discipline or related vocational training preferred
Working Conditions:
Primarily outdoor construction work. Ability to perform physical activity associated with climbing poles, such as pushing, pulling, lifting and bending. Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 pounds and pull up to 75 pounds.
