Pet Stylist

At Petco, we're passionate about providing exceptional pet care and services to our customers. As a Junior Pet Stylist, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality grooming experiences for our furry friends.

• Learn and perform fundamental grooming tasks, including bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning.
• Work closely with experienced groomers to develop essential skills and knowledge.
• Provide exceptional customer service and interact professionally with pet parents.
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming area, adhering to Petco's hygiene and sanitation policies.
• Schedule appointments, manage paperwork, and maintain accurate grooming records.

Our comprehensive training program will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this role. You'll learn about dog behavior, pet and self-safety, and customer service, among other essential topics.

• 0-1 year of animal-related experience, including shelter volunteering or pet sitting.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in pet grooming.
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and common grooming practices.
• Ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with pet parents and grooming team members.

The majority of job duties are conducted indoors in the grooming salon. You'll be required to bend, kneel, lift (up to 30 pounds), and stand for long periods. Exposure to heights using a two-step ladder or other support tools may be necessary for cleaning and maintenance duties.
