Overview

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Physician to join our team at the US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the advancement of cancer treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical instructions and leadership to physics, dosimetry, radiation therapists, and other clinical staff as assigned.
  • Ensure efficient, high-quality, cost-effective delivery of services within allocated budget.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to resolve operational issues and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in forums to identify, communicate, and resolve issues related to Radiation Oncology Section and Medical Center operations.
  • Contribute to the goal of improving patient care through evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of managed care principles, including healthcare finance, billing, coding, and documentation.
  • Foster knowledge and adoption of current automated technology for Health Information Management Sections (HIMS), patient data tracking, and patient orders.
  • Participate in local administrative, management, quality assurance, and other assignments, meetings, or committees.
  • Deliver direct patient care in outpatient clinics and/or inpatient services, with participation in the Radiation Oncology Section on-call schedule.
  • Engage in regular peer review activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely completion of daily clinic notes and patient records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Prioritize radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self, while following departmental and VA radiation safety procedures.
  • Ensure compassionate and accurate treatment provision to patients.
  • Report unsafe conditions, practices, or occupational illness/injuries promptly, adhering to all safety and health standards regulations.
  • Contribute to quality assurance activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting on trends and changes based on collected data.
Qualifications
  • Hold a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree or equivalent from a recognized medical institution.
  • Possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the United States, its territories, or District of Columbia.
  • Complete residency training in an accredited core specialty program leading to eligibility for board certification, approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $250,000 - $350,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and continuing education opportunities.

Work Environment

This role requires regular travel by air or automobile within the service area, with potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other common radiation therapy environment hazards.
