Job Overview

The role involves working under general supervision, utilizing blueprints, sketches, and specifications to operate and adjust both manual and CNC machine tools for standard and repetitive tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up manual machines according to prescribed speeds, feeds, and tooling sequences.
  • Operate CNC machines with pre-approved programs, ensuring setups are maintained as directed.
  • Remove burrs and rough edges from machine components using various hand techniques, including filing and polishing.
  • Inspect parts for scratches, burrs, and tool marks using magnifying equipment.
  • Utilize standard measuring tools to ensure precision in work.
  • Sharpen drill bits on a grinding wheel as required.
  • Operate automatic welding machinery as needed.
  • Transport parts and materials to and from the designated work area.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications: A minimum of four years of experience as a general machine shop operator, demonstrating proficiency in both machine and manual operations is required.
