Department Overview
The Good Samaritan Society Albert Lea Assisted Living offers comprehensive assisted living and senior housing services to residents in our communities.
- Full Time: 80 Hours per bi-weekly pay period

Position Summary
This role involves integrating healthcare for residents from pre-admission through post-discharge. The integration process enhances resident flow and fosters interdisciplinary communication for timely interventions. The role requires evaluating outcomes based on established clinical, financial, and utilization data. The RN will function in both structured and unstructured healthcare settings, utilizing independent nursing judgment to meet the healthcare needs of residents.
Responsibilities include interviewing potential residents and assessing their eligibility in accordance with regulations and policies. The RN will utilize assessment data for admissions and ongoing evaluations, ensuring compliance with assisted living qualifications. A personalized service plan will be developed for each resident, with continuous evaluation of their needs.
Essential skills include effective communication with residents, families, and the healthcare team, as well as the ability to coordinate and negotiate care plans. The RN will monitor and assess patient responses using structured care methodologies, demonstrating fiscal responsibility and managing variances.
Independence, assertiveness, and critical thinking are crucial when working with patients and colleagues. The ability to document clearly, solve problems, and motivate oneself is essential. The RN should be adept at teaching and adapting educational principles to meet the needs of various age groups, as well as facilitating group activities and implementing necessary projects.
Availability for primarily day hours, scheduled weekends, and occasional evenings is required. The role may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and various environmental stressors.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred. Candidates should graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program and possess a valid RN license in the state of practice. A minimum of one to two years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting is preferred, along with in-depth knowledge of the specialty area.
