Role Summary:

The Welder is responsible for executing high-quality welding tasks while adhering to established standards and safety protocols. This role requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to current Standard Work practices, ensuring quality in all tasks performed.
  • Recognize and report any deviations from standards or nonconforming conditions to the Supervisor.
  • Identify sources of inefficiency in workflows and collaborate with the Supervisor to implement improvements.
  • Propose enhancements to safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized work environment following 5S principles.
  • Engage in continuous learning to acquire new skills relevant to the workflow and enhance overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with company procedures and ethical standards.
  • Assist others in executing standard work, particularly on complex assignments.
  • Set up and operate necessary tools and equipment for standard work, demonstrating proficiency in TIG welding.
  • Maintain minimal welding qualifications (SST).
  • Identify execution issues in standard work and seek assistance for resolution.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in reading and writing in English.
  • Basic computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Windows.
  • Fundamental math skills and ability to utilize basic measurement tools (ruler, scale, calipers, tape measure).
  • Familiarity with various hand tools (wire strippers, pliers, wrenches, etc.).
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Regular lifting capability of up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
