Position Overview

Larson is in search of a seasoned Process Engineer to spearhead the front-end engineering and detailed design of projects across various agricultural facilities, with a focus on grain handling. The ideal candidate will possess recent experience in engineering consulting, design engineering of construction documents, and will have acted as a multi-disciplinary project lead while supervising heavy industrial projects. This role is tailored for engineering leaders capable of directing multi-disciplinary teams to collaborate with clients in executing design projects, leveraging technical resources from across the organization. A well-qualified candidate will also be an independent leader with a growth mindset, ready to tackle all facets of industrial projects. This position involves direct interaction with clients, vendors, and contractors to coordinate and achieve project objectives. A broad understanding of the latest equipment and technology utilized in industrial facilities, particularly within the grain sector, is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, perform, and oversee specific projects or tasks.
  • Exhibit leadership through excellent engineering analysis and judgment, delivering appropriate results and responsiveness to clients.
  • Maintain project schedules and budgets while directing team members to effectively complete project tasks.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines as the project lead to ensure the successful completion of all necessary tasks.
  • Develop conceptual plans, layouts, and project scopes.
  • Create flow diagrams and Process & Instrument Diagrams.
  • Generate Project Capital Cost Estimates and Project Schedules for front-end engineering and detailed design projects.
  • Draft equipment, project, and material specifications.
  • Conduct field verifications of new designs and existing environments.
  • Prepare reports, project summaries, and recommendations.
  • Guide projects from initial design concepts through to construction.
  • Provide onsite bid, design, and construction support.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, typically less than 5%.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD design and 3-D modeling is essential for directing others.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • 10 or more years of experience in Design Engineering and construction of agricultural projects, preferably in grain handling.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Highly skilled in bulk material handling.
  • Consulting Engineering experience is preferred.
  • Outstanding presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
