Logistics Coordinator

By The Yard Inc is seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for transporting assembled furniture to residential and commercial customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner.

• Transportation: Drive a pick-up truck with trailer or box truck to transport furniture for delivery to customers.
• Loading and Unloading: Load and unload truck with product and supplies.
• Order Management: Use electronic log to track, check, prioritize, and route orders.
• Customer Service: Verify order is correct and complete paperwork.
• Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional service in all customer interactions.
• Warehouse Management: Organize Customer Pickup and distribution area.
• Repair and Maintenance: Occasionally make minor repairs and assembly at the customer location.
• Compliance: Remain compliant with housekeeping standards and all safety and work rules and regulations.
• Process Improvement: Recommend new and better processes and methods to supervisor.
• Team Collaboration: Work with other departments and Showroom team on various assignments as necessary.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain a clean driving record and report all incidents or damages immediately.
• Driving Standards: Exercise professional and courteous driving. Obey all laws and ordinances.
• Additional Responsibilities: Perform some maintenance on showroom property, i.e. weeding, snow removal, lawn mowing, etc.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• License: Valid Class D driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to receive DOT medical certification.
• Experience: Experience using power and hand tools such as drill and screw gun.
• Driving Experience: Experience driving box truck and/or trailer.
• Direction Following: Understand and follow written, verbal, and mapped directions.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills.
• Attitude: Positive and professional attitude.
• Travel: Occasional travel to store locations/trade shows in another state.

• Experience: Minimum of one year experience as a Delivery Driver.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to regularly stand, sit, and frequently walk, talk, or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee must stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, carrying and moving parts, materials, and product. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
