About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Slitter Assistant to join our team at Berry Global. As a Slitter Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist operators with set-ups, including width, length, and packaging of various product put-ups.
  • Load tape drums and remove empty drum cores using the overhead hoist system.
  • Manually load slitter spindles with tape cores, where applicable.
  • Assist operators and other crew members with duties to ensure a continuous flow of materials and product.
  • Perform visual inspections for quality products and notify supervisors of any quality or maintenance problems.
  • Perform minor machine adjustments as needed and follow prescribed safety and GMP regulations.
  • Learn to fill out the slitter check sheet and rewind sheet properly, and perform quality checks in accordance with check sheets and established standards.
  • Help perform changeovers, set up knife banks and spindles, and replace knives as needed.
  • Rebuild knife frame assemblies, as needed, and maintain the case sealer and keep it supplied in sealing tape.
  • Maintain necessary records and perform other duties as required or directed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Excellent attendance and ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to read and write, and maintain a safe work environment.
