Resident Director

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Resident Director to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of a residential community, with a focus on providing a positive and engaging environment for students.

• Supervise and manage a team of Resident Assistants (RAs) and other student staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of the residential community.
• Develop and implement programs and initiatives to promote student development, engagement, and retention, in collaboration with the Housing and Residential Education team.
• Work closely with the Assistant Director to recruit, select, train, and evaluate RA staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively support students.
• Collaborate with University academic partners to develop and implement Residential Living-Learning Communities, providing a supportive and inclusive environment for students.
• Act as a general resource person, providing referrals and support to students as needed, and working closely with other University offices to address student conduct matters.
• Assume central office administrative functions, including serving on committees and participating in staff development initiatives.

• Bachelor's Degree required, with a Master's Degree preferred.
• Previous experience in Residence Life or a comparable role, with a proven track record of success in supervising staff and developing programs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations.
