The Art Academy of Cincinnati is inviting applications for the role of Adjunct Faculty within the Department of Liberal Arts. This position is designed for individuals with advanced degrees or substantial experience in fields such as Art History, Creative Writing, Philosophy, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences.
Role Summary:
As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to students in accordance with the established curriculum. Teaching assignments will vary based on departmental needs each semester, and may include both daytime and evening classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement course materials that align with the AAC curriculum, utilizing the provided syllabus template and course descriptions.
- Fulfill all instructional duties as outlined in the AAC Employee Handbook and Faculty Handbook.
- Ensure adherence to semester contact hours.
- Conduct one office hour weekly, available for student consultations either online or in-person.
- Engage in the Early Alert Process to identify and support students facing attendance or performance challenges.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and submit Midterm and Final grades punctually through the Student Information System (SIS).
Qualifications Required:
- A Master's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Submission of an official transcript confirming the highest degree earned is mandatory prior to employment commencement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A terminal degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with active learning methodologies.
