The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) seeks a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join their team. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of Arizona's youth.

Salary

The salary for this position is approximately $70,000 per year, plus a $5,000 hiring incentive available to newly hired candidates.

Job Description

This role involves providing individual, group, and family counseling sessions to support the emotional well-being and rehabilitation of juveniles. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive counseling services to address mental health concerns and behavioral issues
  • Evaluating high-risk/suicidal youth to determine potential for self-injury or injury to others
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each youth's needs
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's Degree in a relevant field, such as counseling or psychology
  • A current, active Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE) dependent license
  • Experience working with juveniles or young adults in a mental health or correctional setting
