Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Republic Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading a group of technicians to ensure that all repairs and maintenance of equipment are performed in compliance with our safety standards and applicable federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of technicians to perform repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and equipment, ensuring that all work is done in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Diagnose complex repair issues and provide guidance to subordinate technicians on diagnostic techniques.
  • Perform external repair inspections to ensure that all repair work is done in a safe manner.
  • Schedule repair work for the team to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is done in a timely manner, reducing lost productivity within the shop.
  • Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication as needed.
  • Inspect repairs done by third-party vendors to ensure that all work has been properly completed in accordance with our safety procedures and federal and state regulations.
  • Complete applicable company training programs to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and techniques.
  • Act as a mentor to technicians and provide guidance and support as needed.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
  • Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in areas such as suspensions, steering, general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, and diesel emissions.
  • ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
  • Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
