Job Summary

In this role, you will work alongside an experienced WM Driver and/or WM Driver Trainer to complete the required training to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle providing service to customers in our Line of Business (LOB).

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and document checks utilizing the standard DVIR.
  • Immediately report all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by Waste Management or directed by the Route Manager.
  • Work closely with Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
  • Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service, or potential safety hazards.
  • Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
  • Completely dump all receptacles and leave the customer's location clean and free of debris.
  • Follow route assignments as directed and complete end-of-day documentation and check-out process.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen.
Work Environment

This role requires working outdoors and/or driving a vehicle. You will be exposed to physical occupational risks, such as cuts, burns, and exposure to toxic chemicals, rarely. You will also be exposed to physical environment elements, such as dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes, most of the workday.
