Job Overview

Mayday Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Painter I to join our team in Denton, Texas. As a key member of our paint shop, you will be responsible for cleaning and prepping surfaces of aircraft parts, setting up equipment, and applying paint in accordance with customer specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Learn and understand practical painting processes and procedures
  • Read and understand traveler instructions and special notes
  • Develop basic knowledge on prepping parts, including sanding, flipping, and racking
  • Learn mixing portions of paint and familiarize yourself with paint guns, equipment, and tooling
  • Count and record number of pieces being painted
  • Adhere to company policies, quality procedures, and safety standards
Requirements
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Ability to read and interpret process specifications, procedures, and customer purchase orders
  • Ability to solve practical process or procedural problems/issues
  • Must have good penmanship
  • Able to maintain a high level of attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in a typical processing environment
  • Prime and Paint are done in a booth with either a full-face respirator or supplied air hood
  • Use and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including walking, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, transporting supplies or equipment, sitting or standing for extended periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 25 lbs.
Shift Schedules

1st shift: 6:45am - 3:00pm

2nd shift: 2:45pm - 11:00pm

3rd shift: 10:45pm - 7:00am
