Job Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer with expertise in both Rails and React to join our dynamic Atlanta-based Software Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and maintain our web applications, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and performant. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that meets the needs of our internal and external customers.

Location
Our office is located at 1 Glenlake Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30328. The team operates on a Hybrid schedule, with Tuesdays and Thursdays being our core days. We also require occasional travel to HexArmor Headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI every 6-8 weeks.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using Rails and React;
  • Collaborating with other engineers to define and implement new applications and features;
  • Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs;
  • Optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability;
  • Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members;
  • Mentoring early-career software engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement;
  • Troubleshooting and debugging complex issues;
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience;
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Rails and React;
  • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS;
  • Proficiency in RSpec, Jest, and Cypress for testing;
  • Experience with writing and testing application code in containerized environments;
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and experience in integrating with back-end services;
  • Experience with database design and management (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL);
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git);
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Must have strong communication and collaboration skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

Bonus Qualifications
The following bonus qualifications would be highly advantageous:
  • Experience with various AWS and Azure products and services;
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, especially using tools such as CircleCI;
  • Familiarity with configuring and managing containerized environments and applications utilizing Docker and AWS ECS.

Compensation
We offer a competitive base salary of $120,000 per annum, along with a 10% performance bonus. This means you can earn up to $132,000 annually based on performance.
