Job Overview:

  • As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for safely operating various pieces of heavy equipment, including forklifts, boom lifts, bobcats, flat beds, and low boy trucks.
  • You will be the first point of contact for equipment and material transfers, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining the warehouse, yard, and monthly inventories.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, boom lifts, bobcats, flat beds, and low boy trucks, to transport materials and equipment.
  • Transport heavy equipment from location to location, pull/extend hoses, clean the box of the truck, and climb up to the boom seat to transfer materials.
  • Complete pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is functioning properly and maneuver the truck into positions following signals from other employees.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with hand signals.
  • General knowledge of the heavy highway construction industry.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • CDL license.
  • Union membership.
Physical Demands:
  • Lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Stand, walk, sit, use hands to input information, handle, carry (with and without assistance), feel objects, tools (of varying size and weight), or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear, and taste or smell.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequent exposure to high noise levels.
Environmental Conditions:
  • Constant exposure to various weather conditions typical in the states where the work is performed, including noise, dust, and other materials.
  • Work environment in areas where heavy equipment, power tools, and traffic are present.
  • Exposure to heights up to 50 feet and depths of up to 80 feet in this construction work environment.
Safety Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of and compliance with all Company safety requirements, policies, and safety training.
