Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional patient care by greeting patients, escorting them to exam rooms, and preparing them for exams or treatments.
- Assist physicians with assessments, procedures, and administrative tasks.
- Administer medications and perform breathing tests as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
- Perform patient education and complete documentation in patient medical records.
- Call in prescriptions and perform allergy testing and injections as ordered.
- Maintain emergency equipment and respond to patient-related telephone calls.
- Follow up on referrals and insurance authorizations as requested.
- Maintain clinical supply stock and medication samples.
- High school degree required; CMA certificate desirable.
- At least one year of experience in clinical assisting.
- Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications.
- Knowledge of practice management and word processing software.
- Good communication skills and a neat, professional appearance.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines.
- Attend CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, and OIG training programs as required.
- Attend all regular meetings and complete assigned AP training within designated timeframes.
