Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Geriatric Psychiatric Care Assistant to join our team at LifePoint Health. As a key member of our Geri Psych unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the well-being of our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and performing diagnostic procedures.
  • Observe and record patient behavior and activities, reporting any changes to nursing staff and suggesting modifications to treatment plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to patients and families in crisis.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups and support patient education and engagement.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Psychology, Counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Six months of experience working with geriatric patients or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Handle With Care certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Peer Support Specialist Training.
  • Certified in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
