Job Summary

The Safer Foundation is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Property Management Department, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our commercial and residential properties.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring that our properties are safe, presentable, and audit-ready at all times. This will involve performing general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC work.

You will work closely with our Property Manager to inspect vacated apartments, complete make-ready checklists, and restore units to a welcoming environment for our residents and visitors.

Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory of supplies and materials, ordering more as needed, and utilizing our new property management software to manage and track work orders.

Requirements:

  • 2 years' successful experience in facilities maintenance
  • Supervision experience a plus
  • Ability to follow instructions and provide instructions to those under your supervision
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Great customer service ability
  • Driver's license and ability to travel throughout the portfolio

Physical Requirements:

  • Walk and climb stairs
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Lift 50 lbs.
  • Climb ladders and work at high altitudes
  • Maintain composure under pressure

Licenses and Certifications:

  • HVAC, preferred
