Learning Center Educator

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Center Instructor to join our team at Mesa Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the behavior of students assigned to the Alternative Learning Center, managing morning and lunch detentions, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise students assigned to the Alternative Learning Center
* Monitor the activities of students assigned to the Alternative Learning Center Program
* Tutor Alternative Learning Center students as appropriate
* Confer with teachers and administration to communicate the progress of individual students
* Perform record keeping to maintain documentation of participation in the program
* Attend meetings as assigned to share information and/or to improve skills/knowledge
* Regular and on-time attendance is required
Requirements
* Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (i.e. Word, Excel, etc)
* Ability to work well with students, parents, district personnel, and the general public
* Experience working with adolescent age children
* Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain confidentiality
* Ability to work with constant interruptions, meet deadlines, and with minimum supervision
* Ability to tutor students in reading, math, and English
Working Conditions
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The successful candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
