Position Title: Culinary Preparation Specialist

Role Summary: The Culinary Preparation Specialist is accountable for the preparation of meals that align with the hospitality and service standards of our community. This role involves creating appetizing and appropriately portioned dishes for all residents and guests, adhering to production sheets, standardized recipes, and sanitation protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals in accordance with quantity and deadline requirements.
  • Manage food production effectively in the absence of the Chef or Sous Chef.

Qualifications:

Experience and Education:

  • Preferred two years of experience in a similar role, though not mandatory.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not essential.
  • Basic math skills for recipe and production calculations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Willingness to engage with elderly individuals in a senior living setting.
  • Proficient in the use of kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Availability to work on holidays and during special events.

Work Environment:

The position is primarily indoors in a clean, well-lit kitchen. Candidates should be prepared for potential exposure to:

  • Unpleasant odors
  • Rapid temperature changes from freezers to ovens
  • Various cleaning chemicals as outlined in the MSDS Manual
