Job Overview

As a Transport Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of equipment and materials. Your commitment to safety and compliance will be paramount in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety and operational protocols established by Oil States International.
  • Utilize company-issued safety gear and promptly report any hazardous conditions to the Operations Manager or Field Crew Supervisor.
  • Conduct regular inspections of transport vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
  • Return all tools and materials to their designated storage areas at the end of each shift.
  • Identify and report any damages to company property in a timely manner.
  • Proactively recognize potential issues or shortages and communicate them to the Operations Manager or Field Crew Supervisor.
  • Assist with cleaning, repairs, and inventory tasks in the shop or warehouse as directed.
  • Ensure proper loading of trucks, adhering to legal weight limits and securing loads appropriately.
  • Maintain compliance with all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) regulations and ensure vehicles have current inspections.
  • Safely transport equipment to various work locations, following all company and governmental regulations.
  • Participate in pre-job safety meetings and contribute to a culture of safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to drive across state lines up to 70% of the time, depending on the district.
  • Maintain a clean driving record in accordance with company policy.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions provided in various formats and address issues involving multiple variables.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Preferred: 3 years of experience in commercial driving.
  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is mandatory.
  • Effective verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Must maintain a valid D.O.T. medical card and pass a D.O.T. background check.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A, required at the time of hire.
