Job Summary:

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deaf/Hard of Hearing Educator for a full-time, on-site position in Oregon Area. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the educational experience of students with hearing impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans: Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, taking into account their unique needs and goals.
  • Provide Specialized Instruction: Provide specialized instruction using effective communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL) as needed, to ensure students receive a high-quality education.
  • Collaborate with Educational Teams: Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes student success.
  • Assess Student Progress: Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet evolving needs and goals, ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive.
  • Advocate for Students: Advocate for students and support their full participation in school activities, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.

Requirements:

  • Licensure: Must be a licensed Deaf/Hard of Hearing Educator.
  • Experience: Experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication methods, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Classroom Environment: Ability to create a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes student learning and growth.
