MIG Welder Job Description

Join Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. as a skilled MIG Welder to work on various customer products using manual and/or robotic welding equipment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Verify correct filler metal is installed and adjust weld gas flow as needed.
  • Set up manual weld machines or download programs per setup sheet instructions.
  • Verify proper tooling is installed in the robot or staged in manual areas.
  • Review weld requirements from weld prints and load parts into tooling per print and work instructions.
  • Weld parts per customer-provided prints and remove weld spatter and scale from finished parts.
  • Perform quality checks per setup sheet and maintain welding equipment.
  • Setup and operate robotic weld cells and rework parts up to customer specifications.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience in various forms of welding.
  • Proficient in assigned MIG welding techniques and knowledge of wire and filler materials and gases.
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions.
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test and ability to achieve certification to customer requirements.
