Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for providing advanced treatment and comprehensive care to patients with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiples traumas.
You will evaluate patients, establish appropriate treatment goals, and develop comprehensive treatment programs to maximize patient outcomes and return to community activities. You will also coordinate treatment programs with other clinical/therapeutic services and available community resources.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and establish appropriate treatment goals and treatment programs.
- Provide ongoing evaluation of patient's status and goals, modifying treatment program for timely progression.
- Develop comprehensive goals for patient treatment to maximize patient outcomes and return to community activities.
- Coordinate treatment program in conjunction with other clinical/therapeutic services, as well as available community resources.
- Provide patient education, including the development of comprehensive and progressive home programs with instruction to the patient, family, and other caregivers as appropriate to facilitate a safe and effective discharge.
- Prepare for patient discharge, inclusive of ordering necessary equipment and recommendations for therapeutic services ensuring the continuum of care.
- Evaluate patient in the actual or simulated home, school, work, or community environments as necessary to facilitate a return to community activities, making recommendations for necessary adaptations or training.
- Identify and manage various levels of care necessary to ensure care plan delivery. Delegate and supervise the utilization of PTAs, as well as support personnel to maximize patient outcomes and ensure effective utilization of services.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have a current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist. You must also be certified in BLS or complete it within the first 90 days of employment.
