About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare IT Director to lead our Medical Management IT systems, software applications, and databases. As a key member of our team, you will oversee a team of IT professionals on issues related to design, development, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage development, integration, and deployment of new applications, systems, and software to improve provider and member data quality and usability.
  • Develop overall strategy and architecture for areas of responsibility, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
  • Lead technology-based problem-solving efforts, including business requirement analysis and solution implementation.
  • Manage and provide direction for the team in support of business operations, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Liaise with Infrastructure Services team for infrastructure needs and ensure seamless integration.
  • Review and analyze existing applications' effectiveness and efficiency, and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Research and recommend software products and services for emerging business requirements, ensuring compliance with system specifications.
  • Cultivate, disseminate, and enforce functional policies, procedures, and quality assurance best practices throughout the department.
  • Responsible for oversight, management, development, implementation, and communication of department programs, including hiring, staff development, coaching, performance reviews, corrective actions, and termination of employees.
  • Develop annual department budgets and monitor spending versus budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Coordinate business activities by maintaining collaborative partnerships with key departments, driving process improvement and interdepartmental efficiencies.
  • Actively participate in Manager/Supervisor meetings and strategic committees, contributing to business strategies and operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years direct experience in software development, programming design, and systems management in healthcare, with proven expertise in overseeing software solution development and implementation.
  • Previous insurance industry experience with Epic healthcare software solutions required, along with strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field required or 10+ years equivalent work experience in lieu of degree, demonstrating ability to understand and contribute to business strategies, processes, and operations.
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, with working knowledge of SQL, PowerBI, database design, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws, with experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong customer-service orientation, highly self-motivated, and directed, with strong attention to detail.

Environment:

This role is based in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 10% of the time, with opportunities to work with a talented team and make a meaningful impact on the organization's success.

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
