Quality Control Technician - Evening Shift

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Quality Control Technician for our manufacturing operations. This role will report to the Quality Manager and will involve conducting product inspections utilizing various measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. The technician will also be responsible for compiling reports to document inspection findings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret manufacturing specifications and apply relevant procedures, standards, and specifications to ensure product compliance.
- Prepare necessary job information, including documents and quality history, for production teams prior to job setups.
- Monitor Statistical Process Controls on key characteristics as defined.
- Conduct inspections of manufactured components, tooling, and fixtures to ensure conformity to customer specifications.
- Initiate non-conformance reports and corrective actions as required.
- Complete, inspect, and distribute all quality records and documentation.
- Maintain job files for production run data, first piece approvals, and visual alerts.
- Calibrate measuring devices and maintain calibration records for all equipment.
- Assist in training new production staff on gauging techniques, equipment, Statistical Process Control, data collection, and quality policies.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in using a variety of precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers.
- Familiarity with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).

Performance Expectations:
Within the first few months, the successful candidate will:
- Complete the Atkore Immersion Program.
- Understand how their role contributes to Atkore's Business System through Lean Daily Management.
- Gain insight into team dynamics and operations management.
Within six months, the candidate will:
- Become familiar with current training materials and procedures.
- Collaborate with quality team members to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values.
Within a year, the candidate will:
- Create and update inspection documentation as necessary.
- Work with the operations team to address quality issues promptly.
- Lead Lean initiatives to drive process enhancements.
