R&D Chemist

Goulston Technologies is seeking a highly skilled R&D Chemist to join our team in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for testing product finishes to confirm performance to product specifications.

1. Product Finish Testing: Conduct thorough testing of product finishes to ensure they meet our high standards of quality and performance.
2. Customer Interface: Collaborate with internal and external customers to determine finish requirements and ensure product integrity is maintained.
3. Reporting and Documentation: Create detailed reports for internal and external customers, documenting test results and product specifications.
4. Support and Evaluation: Attend customer evaluations and provide support to the team in a supporting role.
5. Product Evaluation: Test and evaluate customer products to ensure they meet our quality standards.
6. Batch Monitoring: Monitor and approve new production batches under supervision.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Education: A Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Textile Chemistry.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a related field.
• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, as well as respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Computer Competencies: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
