Position Title: Patron Services Lead Sales Associate
Department: Patron Services
Reports To: Patron Services Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Schedule: Regular work week is Tuesday through Saturday


Objective of the Role:
The primary aim of this position is to provide essential support in daily operations, take charge of sales initiatives in collaboration with team members, and assist supervisors with various programs.


Key Relationships:
Direct supervisor, team members, programming and education department, patrons, and members.


Expected Outcomes:

  • Deliver exceptional service consistently in all interactions with both internal and external clients.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of events, programs, and subscription services.
  • Establish constructive working relationships characterized by acceptance, collaboration, and mutual respect.
  • Promote and exemplify the organization's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Uphold confidentiality at all times.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Execute opening and closing procedures in the absence of supervisors and management.
  • Process ticket orders in-person and via phone using the Tessitura system efficiently.
  • Inform patrons about upcoming events and encourage memberships and donations.
  • Manage and track group sales to ensure accurate records throughout the fiscal year.
  • Report accurate fiscal year data on group sales to the Development Department.
  • Serve as a role model for team members in customer service, program knowledge, problem-solving, data entry, cash handling, and customer management.
  • Assist patrons by addressing inquiries and resolving issues in line with departmental guidelines.
  • Oversee breaks and lunches to support team members.
  • Handle cash, checks, credit card transactions, vouchers, and gift certificates.
  • Verify cash funds at the beginning and end of shifts; generate daily sales reports and complete deposit sheets following security protocols.
  • Maintain proactive communication with other departments to support the Center's operations.
  • Share insights and suggestions to enhance team success; provide training and support to staff.

Professional Qualifications:
Associate of Arts degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; three to five years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Technical Skills:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Contribute positively to the workplace atmosphere.
  • Culturally aware and sensitive.
  • Proficient data entry skills and quick adaptability to new processes.
  • Commitment to team collaboration and staff development.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Capacity to follow directions and work independently.
  • Typing speed of 25 WPM.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
