The Nurse Clinician IV is a proficient healthcare professional who possesses the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the standards for competent nursing practice as outlined in the Texas Nurse Practice Act. This role is characterized by a combination of independent and collaborative decision-making, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care. The clinician effectively collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to address patient care challenges and serves as a clinical leader within the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nursing Process:
Utilize specialized knowledge to assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop individualized care plans. - Patient Education:
Provide comprehensive patient and family education tailored to individual learning needs, utilizing evidence-based resources. - Care Coordination:
Plan and prioritize patient care activities, ensuring safety and continuity through effective communication and teamwork. - Professional Performance:
Demonstrate ethical practice, advocate for patients, and maintain a culturally sensitive approach to care. - Leadership:
Facilitate communication within the team, lead unit initiatives, and participate in professional governance activities. - Quality and Safety:
Engage in quality improvement initiatives, identify safety concerns, and promote best practices in patient care.
General Expectations:
- Complete required competency evaluations and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to safety protocols.
- Promote a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
8-hour shifts with on-call responsibilities.
