We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects in molecular metabolism, with a focus on endoplasmic reticulum stress and the ER resident protein starch binding domain containing protein 1 (STBD1) in various contexts, such as cancer, obesity, and diabetes.
Key Responsibilities- Design, oversee, and lead a research project to investigate the role of STBD1 in metabolic disorders
- Organize and handle data analysis to identify patterns and trends in metabolic phenotyping of mice
- Prepare abstracts and talks for scientific conferences to present research findings
- Prepare manuscripts for submission to high-impact journals to disseminate research results
- Write and submit research grants to secure funding for future projects
- PhD or MD in a scientific discipline, such as molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field
- 1 year of experience working with mice and molecular biology techniques
- Experience in cell culture and genotyping is highly desirable
