As a key member of the Assessor's Office, the Property Assessment Clerk is responsible for a variety of technical and specialized administrative tasks that support the office's operations. This role involves processing and entering data related to property assessments, managing public inquiries, and maintaining accurate records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide assistance to the public and staff through various communication channels, addressing inquiries and offering guidance on procedures.
- Maintain and manage databases, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information.
- Conduct research and compile data from multiple sources for reports and documentation.
- Process complex documents with a focus on accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.
- Explain tax exemption and rebate programs to the public, addressing any complex inquiries.
- Support Appraisers by preparing correspondence and maintaining organized files.
- Proofread documents for accuracy and adherence to departmental standards.
- Utilize various software applications to enter and retrieve data, generating reports as needed.
- May provide training and direction to temporary staff during special projects.
- Represent the County with professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a high school diploma and two years of relevant administrative support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Understanding of departmental policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in computer applications for data entry and report generation.
- Familiarity with office administrative practices and record-keeping principles.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to analyze and resolve administrative issues effectively.
