Key Responsibilities- Menu Planning and Preparation: Determine types and quantities of meats, vegetables, and soups to be prepared, reviewing planned menus and ensuring timely execution.
- Inventory Management: Assist in establishing and maintaining perpetual supplies inventory, notifying the Dietary Manager of shortages or discrepancies.
- Food Safety and Quality: Consult with the Dietary Manager regarding the use of leftovers, stores, and labels, and consult with the registered dietitian on modified diets.
- Supervision and Training: Supervise dietary workers when washing, trimming, or preparing food, and assist in training, orientation, and supervision of newly hired dietary staff.
- Culinary Expertise: Measure and mix ingredients according to approved recipes, using blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, etc., and cook meat, fish, and fowl in a variety of ways, such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming.
- Resident Care: Prepare special nourishment and supplements as instructed by the Dietary Manager, and identify with resident name and room number, always observing infection prevention and control practices.
- Team Collaboration: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, perform all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors, and perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Education: High School diploma or general equivalency is preferred.
- Experience: 1 year of experience is preferred.
- Communication: Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
- Availability: Company operates 24 hours a day, schedules and hours may vary.
- Professionalism: Open Communication, Professionalism, Ethical Practice, Relationship Management, and maintaining confidentiality are essential qualities for this role.
