Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in a holistic and systematic way, incorporating individual needs and preferences.
  • Formulate plans of care based on trends of similar patients, including patient education and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to identify realistic desired outcomes and adapt standards and guidelines accordingly.
  • Participate in the planning of routine transitional healthcare needs, including treatment options and patient placement options.
  • Make independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.
  • Actively advocate for patients' rights and identify potential conflicts.
  • Ensure efficiency in the delivery of care, determining immediate priorities and offering solutions for problems.
Requirements
  • 0 years of experience, but 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.
  • Pain management experience is a plus.
  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required (from the American Heart Association).
  • RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
  • Proficient in English. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
  • Proficient computer skills required.
