Job Summary

This specialist serves as a resource person and role model for new graduate nurses, creating a direct connection between individual facility and system educational efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs and services to support the growth and development of nurses in various settings.
  • Evaluate strategies to ensure attainment of operational and strategic goals in collaboration with nursing leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform residency-related projects and maintain records to verify successful completion of the residency program.
  • Establish relationships with new graduate nurses, preceptors, unit leadership, and academic partners to gather and analyze system needs.
  • Assess available resources and enact optimal solutions upon consultation and collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Provide additional support to unit-based leadership, preceptors, new graduate residents, and department committees as assigned.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in nursing, with a focus on education and professional development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of established clinical and preceptorship models in the development of clinical education programs.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care programs.
  • Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Experience in nursing education, leadership, or professional development.
  • Knowledge of accreditation processes and certification requirements in nursing.
  • Ability to assess educational needs and design and develop appropriate learning tools to facilitate adult learning.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The specialist must be able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain accurate records.
