The Telecommunications Apprentice will participate in the installation and maintenance of telecommunication systems and associated processes alongside a licensed Telecom Technician.
Key Responsibilities- Regular attendance at assigned locations, including A/Z office or project sites.
- Work with sketches and blueprints to ensure concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
- Assist with installation of cable supports, through-floor and wall sleeves, fire-stopping materials, and data cable installations.
- Participate in the installation of relays, racks, cabinets, network switches, and cable trays.
- Assist with termination of data, voice, coaxial, control, and fiber optic cables.
- Test cables to TIA/EIA level II standards using a cable analyzer.
- Perform other routine duties as directed by the workplace leader.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience: 0-4 years of field experience, trade school, or apprenticeship.
- Highly focused on customer satisfaction expectations.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Preparation of miscellaneous paperwork, including time sheets, daily reports, and material requests.
- Understanding of and strict adherence to daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Appropriate state certification or license.
- OSHA 10 certification.
