Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Park Lawn Memorial Group, LLC. This role is responsible for performing various grounds keeping and maintenance tasks to ensure the overall appearance of our cemetery, mausoleum, and funeral home locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform grounds maintenance tasks, including lawn care, pruning, and landscaping.
  • Operate and maintain mechanized equipment, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and edgers.
  • Assist with interments and entombments, including excavating graves and placing caskets on lowering devices.
  • Identify and locate interment/entombment spaces on cemetery maps.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of grounds experience, preferably in a cemetery or funeral home setting.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to operate large and medium-scale equipment, including riding mowers, backhoes, and tractors.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift up to 75 pounds.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in an outdoor environment, exposed to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and uneven ground.

Employees in this role are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 75 pounds.

Overtime may be necessary or required.

Travel

This position may require up to 10% out-of-area and overnight travel.

Travel is primarily local, occurring during the business day only.
