About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses in their daily activities, health and personal management, and achieving personal goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals in daily activities, including health and personal management, and achieving personal goals.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program individuals.
- Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement individualized plans to improve functioning and minimize interfering behaviors.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of related experience or an Associate's Degree with 1 year of related experience.
- Valid NY Driver's License.
- Flexibility, patience, energy, creativity, and a sense of humor.
- Ability to lift at least 70 pounds.
- Strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.
