Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Plasma Collection Specialist. As a key member of our center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors, while also contributing to the success of our plasma collection operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations on donors to assess suitability for plasma donation.
  • Perform repeat medical histories and physical examinations on an annual basis for qualified donors.
  • Explain the plasma donation process to donors and obtain informed consent.
  • Evaluate donor reactions and initiate appropriate therapy as needed.
  • Notify the Medical Director of any unusual medical problems or donor reactions.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Participate in employee safety, education, and training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the center manager.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a recognized educational program and currently licensed in the state of employment.
  • Must meet and maintain current licensing requirements in the state of employment and company with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Must maintain current certification in CPR.
  • Must complete our training program for Physician's Substitute/Physician Assistant under the supervision of the Center's Medical Director.
  • Proficient with computer entry.
  • Minimum requirement is additionally certified in Donor Screening. Phlebotomy and Plasma Processing certification may be required by management.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other conditions common to a donor center. Personal protective equipment is required, including eyewear, lab coats, and gloves.
