We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to join our team at Jack CDJR in Saco, Maine. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and repairs of pre-owned vehicles to ensure maximum reliability and functionality.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and Diagnose: Conduct comprehensive safety checks and diagnose any issues with vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components.
- Repair and Maintain: Perform routine maintenance work, such as fluid replacements and lubricating parts, to optimize vehicle functionality and longevity.
- Provide Expert Advice: Offer accurate advice to customers on necessary present and future repairs, and provide estimates for repair or maintenance tasks.
- Log and Document: Maintain comprehensive logs of work performed and documented issues.
- Ensure Safety and Quality: Ensure all equipment and tools are properly maintained and in optimal condition, and follow safety precautions and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Experience and Knowledge: Proven experience as a meticulous and skilled mechanic, with extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components within vehicles.
- Diagnostic Skills: Proficient in vehicle diagnostic systems and methodologies, with the ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment with ease.
- Physical Demands: Excellent physical condition to meet the demands of the role, with the ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods.
- Education and Certifications: Preference for a high school diploma; completion of a vocational school program or apprenticeship is highly desired, with valid certification and state licenses a definite plus.
