Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Children's Wisconsin. As a member of our care management team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide delegated patient care activities under the direction of a registered nurse, including hygiene, physical cares, intake/nutrition, elimination, ambulation/exercise, and routine vital signs/monitoring.
  • Assist RN and/or physician with patient treatment/procedures as directed, including feeding, toileting, bathing, positioning, and ambulation.
  • Measure, document, and report physiologic data (vital signs) and observations made of patients or families, and verbally report any deviations or changes to the RN and document in the patient's medical record.
  • Provide personal care to patients, including preparing patient rooms for admissions, changing bed linens, distributing/collecting dietary trays, and transporting patients under the direction of the RN.
  • Maintain department supplies and equipment needed for patient care, including cleaning equipment and supplies after use and reporting any deficiencies or unsafe equipment to the RN or manager immediately.
  • Support the unit environmental needs by maintaining cleanliness in the treatment room, isolation room, kitchen, patient care areas, supply area, and the department in general.
Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations at a level preferably acquired through completion of a high school education or equivalent.
  • Currently registered with the State of Wisconsin Registry for Nursing Assistants/Home Health Aides to be eligible for employment in the basic provider settings plus federally certified home health agencies and hospices.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
