Job Title: LPN to Ride the School Bus

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to provide one-on-one care to a disabled child while riding the school bus.

Job Summary:

The LPN will be responsible for monitoring the student's well-being and behavior during the bus ride, recognizing and responding to any deviations from their baseline, and administering emergency medications and procedures as prescribed by the student's physician.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement physician orders and report the patient's response to care
  • Recognize changing patient conditions and emergency situations and intervene appropriately
  • Constantly monitor students' well-being and behavior during the route
  • Respond to students' needs by administering first aid and care as stipulated by policies and procedures
  • Store and secure all student equipment that is to be transported with the student
  • Establish effective relationships with patients/students, physicians, families, coworkers, and supervisors
  • Provide direct care to patients/students with a wide variety of diagnoses, conditions, and diseases
  • Maintain a safe environment for all patients/students assigned
Requirements:
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training including adults, children, and infants
  • Ability to provide proof of current BLS training
  • Ability to work under the direct supervision of the contracting employer
