Position Title:

Role Overview:

  • Conducts daily health assessments for individuals in custody within detention facilities.
  • Coordinates inmate appointments for clinical evaluations with the designated Physician Assistant based on health assessments.
  • Ensures the provision and administration of both over-the-counter and prescribed medications to inmates.
  • Responsible for the bi-daily distribution of medications to inmates and prepares the medication cart for other healthcare staff as needed.
  • Maintains accurate records of medication distribution.
  • Guarantees that all medical services provided to inmates are properly documented and that medical records are accessible for review and well-maintained.
  • Administers vaccinations and performs blood draws for inmates and detention personnel as required.
  • Reviews medical invoices for correctness, prepares financial documents for payment, and identifies potential discount opportunities.
  • Operates within the framework of established protocols and budgetary constraints.
  • Prepares necessary documentation and reports.
  • Aids in the formulation of medical service program procedures and methodologies for detention facilities.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications: The preferred candidate will be a licensed registered nurse with experience in providing healthcare services in a detention environment.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in Arizona, ideally with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience; must possess a valid Arizona driver's license with a record of safe driving.
