You will work under general supervision, performing journey-level professional civil engineering office and field work, including planning, design, development, construction, and maintenance of public works projects.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops engineering public works plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Participates in the preparation of cost estimates and construction specifications
  • Administers projects, including managing budgets and timelines
  • Drafts council staff reports and provides technical assistance to the public
  • Performs field inspections and coordinates with consultant staff on public works projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 3 years of experience in civil engineering or related field
  • Valid California Class C Driver's License
  • Either E.I.T. certification or 5 years of engineering experience in the public sector
  • Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California (desired)
