Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team at Black Canyon Surgical Center. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for patient accounts with insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enter procedural codes for each patient in patient account
  • File insurance claims both primary and secondary according to Facility Billing Standards
  • Monitor billing for accurate and timely completion
  • Identify and correct billing errors, coding errors, and timely rebilling
  • Correspond with insurance companies regarding any discrepancies in payments
  • Maintain current information on correct and lawful practices in billing government and private payers for ambulatory surgical care
  • Follow up with third-party payers and patients for services received in accordance with Facility Policy and Procedures
  • Generate patient statements according to facility policy and procedures
  • Communicate with patients and families regarding facility charges, insurance coverage, and payment options
Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • Four years of medical facility or medical business office experience
  • Automated billing systems experience
  • Strong understanding of commercial health insurance, federal, and state coverage
  • Understanding of medical terminology, claims processing guidelines, and federal insurance regulations
